How do I add an image to a Blog posting?

The steps for adding an image to a blog posting are the same as in adding an image with a web page.

Upload the image to the server by going to the "Upload Files" tab on the toolbar.
Click on "Image" to upload and image.
On the bottom, click "Browse" to find the image file on your computer.
Click "Upload" to upload image to the server.
Go to the blog posting that you want to add the image to.
Click on the bottom left "Insert/Edit Image" icon that looks like a mountain.
Click on "Browse Server" to find the Image you would like to place in this blog posting.
Click "OK"

I am having trouble uploading a picture.

How do I fix it?

If the image is too large, Webepreneur will not accept it.
If the image is too small, it will upload, but it will not be clear to viewers.

Resizing Image:

Use Adobe Photoshop or a photo editing program of similar abilities.

An XML-based format for content distribution
RSS Feeds plug the content from external websites into your website, so they are literally “fed” from their website through your website.

Why should I use RSS Feeds?

When blogs are updated frequently on your website, they make your website “active” and “alive.”
RSS feeds of blogs from other websites that are updated frequently, and that are related to the services that you provide, are an easy way to add content to your website without writing it yourself, every day.
The more “active” and updated your site is, the more popular it is with search engines such as www.yahoo.com or www.google.com.
This popularity increases your ranking when people search for subjects/words that are included within the content of your website.

What is Ranking?

When you search through www.google.com for a certain word/product/service/etc., the “Search Results” that are given on the page have a certain ranking, from top to bottom and from page 1 to page 10. The higher you are ranked, the more likely you are to have someone click on your link and find your website.

How do I find RSS Feeds for other blogs?

RSS Feeds will normally have the icon:

You can either…
…right click (ctrl+click for mac’s) and select “Copy Link Location”
…or click on the icon to open the feed page, and copy the URL of this page

How do I fix the RSS Feed?

1. Verify that the RSS Feed you added is the correct link for that blog by copying and pasting the link you currently have into a blank web browser window.

2. Open the Product or Category that the blog is feeding into, and check to make sure that the desired amount of posting is selected. For instance, if only a title is showing up and you want the full article, make sure that “Full Article” is selected.

3. Check to make sure that the correct blog is selected in the drop-down menu, as well as the correct amount of maximum posts. Selecting at least 5 posts will usually guarantee that you have enough posts feeding into your website.

Sometimes the source of the blog/rss feed is not working properly, and in that case you can choose to hide that blog until it is working again.

Blog sources will sometimes determine the amount and extent of postings it will feed to users. This will affect how many maximum posts you have chosen, as well your choice of Partial Article, Subject Line Only, or Full Article.

Webepreneur® Photo Gallery Instructions

All Premium versions of Webepreneur® websites have been equipped with an awesome new photo gallery feature. The system is really easy to use and there a nice set of instructions below for you to follow along. The "Gallery" system is very robust and has a ton of features outside of the main features, most of which you will have no use for but are there if you need them. Let’s get started!

Logging into Gallery

You will log into your gallery by clicking on the ‘Photo Gallery’ link on your website and then clicking on the ‘Gallery Login’ link at the bottom of the page. A login page will come up and you will log in using the same user name and password as you use to log in to the dashboard of your Webepreneur website.

Adding an Album

1. Right when you log into your gallery you will see the gallery dashboard. Click on the ‘Add an Album’ link in the sidebar. NEVER click on the ‘Add a Photo’ link in the middle of the page. Instructions to fix this mistake are further down the page. ☺

2. Fill in the following fields. Some are optional and some are needed. (denoted *)

*Name: Type in the LOWERCASE name of your album. If it is a puppies album, type in ‘puppies’. This will create the link to the album.
*Title: Type in the TITLE of the gallery. If it is a puppies album, type in ‘Puppies’. This will be the Title that is displayed on the page.
*Summary: Type a short summary of the album
Keywords: Not required but these keywords are seen by search engines so keywords will definitely help!
Description: Not required but looks nice and adds more content. Type a longer description of your gallery.

3. This will bring you to a page to set up more options for your gallery. Your gallery is already set up with awesome default settings so DO NOT change these.

4. Your Album has now been added!

Adding a Photo

1. Navigate to the main Gallery dashboard page.

2. You want to always be sure that you are adding a photo to an album. Otherwise, you will have random photos scattered throughout your gallery.

3. Find the Album that you wish to add a photo to. Click on the ‘no thumbnail’ in the gray box of the gallery. This will bring you to a page that has a ‘Add a Photo’ link in the middle of the page. Click on this link.

4. There are Multiple ways to add a Photo:

From Web Browser: You can add a photo that is on your computer. Just click on the Browse button and find the photo. Insert a caption if you would like or you can leave this blank. You can add more than 1 photo by going down and use the same process again for another photo. If you need more boxes, click on ‘More Upload Boxes’. IMPORTANT: Set titles from Caption. Uncheck Summary and Decription. Make sure the ‘Create thumbnails now’ is checked. Then Click ‘Add Items’ and you’re done!
From Web Page: Enter any URL into the page and click ‘Find Files’. On the next page, check the photos that you want. Uncheck the Title. Make sure that the ‘Create thumbnails now’ is checked. Click ‘Add URLs’.

5. These are the two main ways to upload a photo that you will use. All the other options are pretty specialized and you will seldom need them.

6. Now you’ve uploaded a photo!

Editing Your Main Album

The gallery dashboard is actually considered an album, with all the other albums as sub-albums. To edit the main album, click on the Edit Album link in the sidebar of the main gallery dashboard.

1. You are only going to want to edit the General settings under the General tab.

2. Here you can change all the gallery information such as Title, Summary, or Description.

3. You can also edit the gallery date.

4. Never hide the main gallery.

5. You can also set up Password Protection by entering a username and password (not recommended).

6. Custom Thumbnail – Not used.

7. Save your setting. Repeat if needed!

Editing Albums (Sub-Albums)

First, find the album that you want to edit. In the pull-down below the album thumbnail, select ‘Edit Album’.

1. You are only going to want to edit the General settings under the General tab.

2. Here you can change all the album information such as Title, Summary, or Description.

3. You can also edit the gallery date.

4. Thumbnail – Never change.

5. Never hide the main gallery.

6. You can also set up Password Protection by entering a username and password (not recommended).

7. Custom Thumbnail – Select a pic from your computer that will be used as the main gallery photo. By default, the thumbnail will be a random pic found within the gallery.

8. Save your setting. Repeat if needed!

Editing Photos

Find the photo that you want to edit. Once the photo is found, click on the ‘Edit Photo’ button in the Sidebar.

1. You are only going to want to edit the General settings under the General tab.

2. Here you can change all the photo information such as Name (URL – Always remember to keep the .jpg or .gif), Title, Summary, or Description.

3. You can also edit the gallery date.

4. Thumbnail – Never change.

5. You can also set up Password Protection by entering a username and password (not recommended).

6. Custom Thumbnail – Never Change.

7. Save your setting. Repeat if needed! If you are feeling brave, you can edit the other settings up top in the tabs (Modify Photo, Crop Thumbnail, etc.) but you may have to re-upload it if you make a mistake.

Moving Photos

You may need to move photos from one album to another. First, find the photo that you want to move. Once the photo is found, click on the ‘Move Photo’ button in the Sidebar.

1. A list of all the photos in the album will appear. Check all the photos that you want to move.

2. Change the destination to the desired album. (Album must already be created)

3. Click ‘Move’.

So you want to sell other people's stuff on eBay through your website and make a commission for doing nothing, eh?

OK, you won't exactly be doing "nothing." You will need to sign up for the program and post some links on your website, but once that's done, you just let the system do its thing --- which is generating you a passive income string.

Though the "eBay Affiliates" program, you can earn between 50% and 75% of eBay's revenue on all winning Bids that start from a link on your website. And if a new user registers and bids on Ebay from your site, you will earn $25.00 - $35.00 per Active Registration. A registration is active when the user places a bid on eBay within 30 days of their initial registration.

Plus, the fact that you will have products automatically updating on your site will help your search engine ranking since keywords from each item will add to your total keyword density. And the search engines LOVE when your site generates new content on a regular basis.

The first thing you need to do is sign up at Commission Junction and get a PID number. Your PID is your website identification number. Let's get started!

HOW TO SIGN UP AT COMMISSION JUNCTION:

1. Go to the eBay Affiliate Commission Junction sign up page.

2. Follow all the steps. Read everything carefully and confirm your acceptance.

3. When you are finished and have received your login information for Commission Junction, login to your Members Area.

HOW TO GET A COMMISSION JUNCTION PID NUMBER:

1. Click on the Account tab (next to "Home")

2. Click on the "Web Site Settings" sub-tab.

3. Click on "Add a New Web Site" button.

4. Fill out the easy form and submit.

5. On your "Account - Web Site Settings" page, you should now see your website listed there with your Name, your new PID number and your URL. Write down this PID number and write it down somewhere you can reference easily.

HOW TO ADD EBAY TO YOUR COMMISSION JUNCTION ACCOUNT:

1. Click on the "Get Links" tab.

2. Under the words "Get Links - Advertiser List" is a Search box with "Advertisers" selected. Type "eBay" next to it and click the "Find" button.

3. You can select any of the offered eBay programs. The one I use is the "eBay Buy. Sell. Trade." (The 6th option when this was written.) To select this one, click on its logo.

4. Read through the information and if it looks good to you, click the "Apply to Program" button at the bottom.

5. Complete the easy application process.

Congratulations! You are now an official eBay Affiliate and can now earn 50% or more of eBay's commission from any eBay item sold via a link on your website. You can also earn $25 to $35 per new eBay member signed up from visitors to your website! (Source: http://affiliates.ebay.com/)

HOW TO CREATE AN EBAY RSS FEED:

You can display up to 200 eBay listings that are dynamically updated in real time on your website by following these instructions:

1. First, sign in to your eBay account. (Yes, you must be an eBay member already. If you are not, sign up for eBay here)

2. Go to eBay's RSS Feed Generator:
http://search.ebay.com/ws/search/AdvSearch?sofindtype=1

3. From this "Advanced Search" page, enter the search criteria for your RSS feed.

4. At the bottom of the page, look for where it says "Affiliate Tracking Information" and click the "Show" link.

5. Select "Commission Junction" as your "Provider."

6. Enter your "Commission Junction PID" that we had you write down earlier.

7. Click the "Search" button.

8. A page of "Results" will appear. Scroll to the bottom of the search results page displayed and click on the orange "RSS" logo.

9. This should open a new window showing the RSS Feed. Copy the page URL at the top into a text document for safe keeping.

Congratulations! You've just created a custom eBay RSS Feed for your website!

HOW TO ADD AN EBAY PRODUCTS PAGE TO YOUR WEBEPRENEUR® SITE IN LESS THAN A MINUTE:

1. Have the RSS feed URL ready that you just saved from your eBay Advanced Search.

2. Login to your Webepreneur® Dashboard.

3. Click on the orange "Web Pages" tab at the top.

4. On the Page List page, click on the green "Add XML Feed Page" link at the top.

5. Enter the "NavLink Button Name" you wish to call this page.

6. Write a Headline for this page. (It can be the same as your "NavLink Button Name.")

7. Paste or type in the RSS Feed URL into the "XML Feed URL" area.

8. Scroll to the bottom and click SAVE.

9. Change the Display Order of your new page.

10. View your new page.

Congratulations! You have just added an XML Feed Page to your Webepreneur® website!
